Neat looking pic, anon. About pens - they usually have an airtight seal in the refill and a cap that prevents the ink from being exposed to air. When you click the pen, it only exposes the tip momentarily. Some higher quality ballpoint pens also use special ink formulations that are more resistant to drying out.
