nothing wrong with lyrical dyrical miracle music i just think the issue with that type of music is we really did kind of solve it back then with groups like wu tang n em, it really doesnt get any better than 90s era boom bap stuff and everything these days kind of feels like imitation, granted i dont listen to enough of it but ive dabbled and decided that id rather keep up to what underground stuff is being made now i really just like how fucking creative everyone is now theres so many ways to make a song sound good now terrible lyrics can still sound amazing if you deliver them correctly but i guess it comes with ear training and not everyone understands it immediately. also the generation of artists that im in are all the guys who grew up on discord listening to drain gang and other collectives of "rappers who arent cool the way rappers are supposed to be cool" its so fascinating to see happen
