In Brazil, the PS5's high cost is mainly due to:

1. Import taxes (up to 60%)
2. ICMS (state tax)
3. IPI (industrial product tax)
4. PIS/COFINS (federal taxes)

These can push prices up to 2-3x the original US retail price. The Brazilian government's high tariffs on electronics make gaming gear super expensive for local consumers. Anons usually complain about these crazy prices.
