>>55372 we are reaching this stage on kpop too so many recent songs, specially by gaypops, have barely made the cut of being "samples" instead of straight up plagiarism
>>55365 yep that is also the case with spanish language artist but i dont know of a group that only does covers reminds me of scooter and yea most people have no idea. i also didnt mention artists from other countries do covers in other styles in real time not just classics when i was living in puerto rico i heard so many salsa/merengue songs written and originally performed by mexican artists lmao
>>55359 here in brazil there is a band called calcinha preta (black panties) which basically takes 80's metal songs (like scorpions) and does portuguese covers slightly genre shifted into pagode (similar to salsa) and most of the people who enjoy those songs have no idea where they come from
>>55353 yea it happens much more in pop, or uh, just popular music in general but there is a hilarious amount of songs by latin artists that just keep getting covered every 20 or so years in different styles a lot of stuff i know from childhood is actually way older .play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bIimzl5NYM
